The Hindi film 'Muqaddar Ka Sikandar' released in 1978 was one of the superhit films of Amitabh Bachchan's career, it was the highest-grossing film that year, and it was the producer and director of the film's fifth film with Amitabh Bachchan.

There is a famous dialogue from this film spoken by Kader Khan, which explains the reason behind the title of the film. Kader Khan plays the role of a fakir Darvesh Baba, who advises Sikandar (Amitabh Bachchan) to embrace life's adversities and find happiness in sadness, saying, "Son, if you want to enjoy life properly, then be playful with death. Following Fakir Baba's advice, Sikandar became Muqaddar Ka Sikandar and a song similar to the title of the film was named Muqaddar Ka Sikandar in the film.
