Acclaimed versatile actor Ajay Devgn who recently completed three decades of his success-story in Bollywood is evidently delighted. That’s because with his movie Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior Ajay has won his fourth National Award, this time, two Awards-- for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and also as Best Actor - Chaitanya Padukone
Reacting to this honour, Ajay expressed, “As the producer of Tanhaji—The Unsung Warrior, it gives me immense joy to receive an honour at the 68th National Film Awards for the Best film that has provided wholesome entertainment.
Tanhaji was exactly that. It is a good story of friendship, loyalty, family values and sacrifice. It has strong national sentiments, super VFX and a holistic approach in entertainment. I must share the honour with my director Om Raut, my co-producers, T-Series and my co-actors.
Most of all, I must thank my entire creative team, cast and crew who have contributed handsomely to making this a blockbuster and now a National Award winner and also express my gratitude to my Parents and Almighty God for all their blessings ” .
Over the years, Ajay who fully believes in ‘team-work’ , has always been a diligent, dedicated, innovative star-actor-film-maker with no compromise in the quality of his work-output or production values.
Unassuming by nature, Ajay ( real name—Vishal Devgn) who has earlier been awarded the National Award for his previous films when Zakhm and The Legend of Bhagat Singh, bagged the Best Actor award.
This time Ajay was also awarded for his fabulous screen-performance in the historical action-drama Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior at the 68th National Film Awards. Ajay, issued an official statement and even congratulated Suriya, who shares the award with him for his film Soorarai Pottru.
As is known, Ajay Devgn, is a versatile Indian star-actor, film director and producer Devgn has appeared in over a hundred films and has won numerous accolades, including three National Film Awards and four Filmfare Awards. In 2016, he was honoured by the Government of India with the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian honour of the country.
The down-to-earth Devgn began his professional career with a big bang with mega-hit musical action-thriller Phool Aur Kaante in 1991 He then rose to prominence as an action hero starring in successful films such as Jigar (1992), Sangram (1993), Dilwale (1994), and Diljale (1996). He went on to give critically acclaimed performances in Zakhm (1998), Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), Company (2002), Deewangee (2002), and The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002).
After the success of Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006), he went on to collaborate with Rohit Shetty on a number of action-comedies including Golmaal Returns (2008), All the Best: Fun Begins (2009), Golmaal 3 (2010), Singham (2011), Bol Bachchan (2012), Singham Returns (2014), and Golmaal Again (2017). His highest-grossing movies include Total Dhamaal (2019) and now Tanhaji (2020).
