My journey as hair and makeup artist in India and Bollywood began when I worked with Priyanka Chopra Jonas for a magazine cover, says Florian Hurel

He has been a hair and makeup artist since he was 16. Today Florian Hurel is one of the popular names in the entertainment industry - Jyothi Venkatesh

He is happy that his knowledge of his craft has only grown and wants to continue making more people beautiful in the coming years.

“I have completed 16 years of my professional career. In fact I was the youngest when I started working in the fashion industry.

I love making women beautiful, their satisfaction and smile make me happy. I would like to continue doing it,” says Florian, who has worked with the likes of Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Tamannah Bhatia, among others.

Looking back, he talks about getting his first break and coming to India. “When it comes to India, it all started when I worked with Priyanka Chopra for a magazine cover for the first time.

That was my first break in Bollywood. I have been in India now for the last six years.

I used to work for a firm that brought me here for commercial work. Soon Mumbai became my home after France,” he adds.

Florian shares that he has learnt a lot while working in India and cherishes his journey and life here in the country.

“I have learnt to be patient and take things as they come. At times it can be overwhelming— the crowds, noise, paparazzi, the fast city and people working round the clock— but you have to be careful.

It’s important for me to keep my space very private in order to be resourced,” says the hair and makeup artist who has worked with most of the popular faces in the industry, and his clients have always been happy with his work, to say the least.
