  1. Do you consider yourself as a “Yes I am Foodie”. Why so, what is the craziest thing you have done for food?

Yes, I am a foodie! because I always appreciate food and it is like meditation for me. Before having any good food, I just sit down, calm myself, take a deep breath and take care of my food plate and most importantly I will relish each and every second of the whole eating journey. The craziest thing I do for food is constantly looking for the good food joints, and whenever I find it I can’t stop myself from trying it.

  1. What type of cuisine do you like the most?

I love almost all the cuisines honestly, but Japanese food is the best food, especially Sushi. Apart from this I really like to have Indian food and according to me, it is the best food ever.

  1. Have you ever tried making anything by yourself?

Yes, I used to cook and I can still cook, but due to my hectic shooting schedule I don’t get much time for cooking. I started cooking properly when I was in 10th standard, I started with learning how to make an omelette and then spinach omelette. After that I learnt how to make Pizzas and Dal Chawal. And consequently I figured out how to cook Chicken. Now I feel I can cook everything in the book.

  1. When was the first time you went into the kitchen to cook something in your life, what was it and how did it turn out?

I cooked for the first time when I was in 9th Standard. Actually, my friend’s mother was a very good cook, she used to make scrumptious Paneer. So one day, I decided to call her and ask her to share the recipe of that amazing Paneer ki sabji and try my hands on it. Of course I started avidly, but after the whole process when I tried it, it didn’t turn out to be that great.

  1. ‘Ma ke haath ka Khana’ is always considered as the best food. What do you remember when you hear about mom’s food? What does she cook especially for you? Any cooking tricks you have learned from your Mom or anyone else from your family?

Yes, 'Ma Ke Haath ka Khana’ is always the best food and my favorite dish is Rogan Josh. It's too good because it’s red meat, and us Kashmiris tend to just fall in love with it. She is a very swift chef, and this is one trick I learnt from her, that if it is good food then it shouldn’t be cooked slowly and precisely, it can be raw and fast.

  1. Any secret cooking tricks you would like to share with us?

My secret cooking trick is to always add ‘Amul cream’ whenever there is extra Masala in my food instead of water.

  1. What is the best food(eating or cooking) advice you have ever got?

My mother has given me this really good advice- you should not live to eat, you should always eat to live, so I think this is the best advice that I would like to give to everybody.
