After featuring in iconic TV shows like "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" , "Kkusum" ,” Dastaan-e-Mohabbat—Salim Anarkali”, etc charming actress Tassnim Sheikh is staging a comeback on the telly-screen after a gap of of 18 months in Rajan Shahi's ongoing popular Star Plus TV show "Anupamaa". She says she had heard all favourable things about him and his production house and always wanted to work with a ‘telly-showman’ like him.
"Since past 18 months I have not signed any new TV shows . Honestly its Rajan-ji's show, that's why I am doing it. I always wanted to work with him. Had heard so many good things about him and his production house Director's Kut Productions. I am super excited to be finally working with Rajan-ji. This new acting assignment is like an advance B’day gift for me,” enthuses the slim-trim, glam-mom Tassnim who off-screen is a crazy teekha-vadaa-pav addict.. She considers herself a connoisseur of the desi burger, “ Since past four months, I have not munched on steaming hot spicy vadaa-pav. But the day corona makes its final exit from our lives, it will be time for celebrations with vadaa-pav for me. That’s my mannat”, asserts Tassnim, who will celebrate her birthday ( Aug 4th) with surprise-cakes in store, from her real-life young daughter Tia, on the presence of only family members
On-screen she will play ‘Raakhee’ who is Nidhi Shah's mother in the show. Nidhi will be seen as Kinjal, who is Aashish Mehrotra's on-screen character Paritosh's love interest. "In real life, I am a mom myself of a 11-year-old daughter. So it does not matter at all. I always take up characters which are very strong, interesting and will make a impactful difference to the TV show. My powerful character Raakhee, is in huge contrast to Anupamaa’s character , like andhera-ujaala, yet viewers will love me on-screen,” she shared.
Staunch Lord Ganesha-devotee Tassnim (her ‘late’mom was a Gujarati) also mentioned that the production house is taking utmost diligent care as far as COVID is concerned and said, "Honestly I was a little scared about going back on the sets, but I ensured that I am taking all possible precautionary measures. And the production house is also taking very good care as per government norms." Rajan Shahi's "Anupamaa" on Star Plus is already immensely popular because of the beautiful and relatable storyline. So, it will be fascinating to see what changes and dramas these new entry-characters bring in the show. The show also features Rupali Ganguly ( in the title-role), Sudhanshu Pandey, Paras Kalnawat and Madalsa Sharma.
