Sanket Choukse as Laxman in Jai Hanuman has been garnering praise for his performance. The actor shares that he enjoys taking up characters that he has not done before and believes in giving 100 percent in whatever he does.
“As an actor, I love to challenge myself and what could be better than Laxman ji who has an extrovert personality? He was the one who never kept his feelings hidden. Playing such characters allow me to showcase my own extreme emotions, which in real life can't be expressed,” says the actor, who has done the film Wedding Anniversary, TV shows such as Saath Nibhana Saathiya, Ishqbaaaz 2, Dil Jaise Dhadke Dhadakne, Waaris and Buddha.
Mythological shows require a lot more attention, time, and work. “I do agree it takes more effort than family drama because they are mostly set in different eras, when the way of life, dressing style and even language was different. Playing Laxman ji is an honour to me, so efforts are too small to justify such a grand character on screen,” he adds.
Sanket likes exploring varied genres. He feels that would help him better his craft. “I feel that now we have more opportunities as we all know there are many platforms as compared to the past, things are much better. Therefore, it’s a good time to be an actor now,” he says.
Praising Dangal TV, he adds, “Dangal is a fast-growing channel. It's my pleasure working with them and hoping to continue this relationship.” Commenting on the content on TV, he explains, “It's a tricky thing to talk about. I must say it's high time for adding more versatile content which has some good and encouraging messages for society alongside entertainment. We must highlight stories that are relatable and try and experiment.”
