New Update

Today ( Feb 1st ) is evergreen macho  mega-star ‘Bhidu’ Jackie Shroff’s birthday ! The down-to-earth, altruistic, versatile super-actor Jackie-Dada shared with  me in an exclusive message that he would be spending the special-day “farming with his family and  will be planting a tree and that he would also feed shelter-kids and support pals doing blood-donation drives and community-welfare camps”.

Currently trending and going viral is versatile super-actor Jackie Shroff’s awesome, grunge, grimy, menacing yet rugged  look as gangster-boss ‘Mustafa’ from the multi-lingual Tamil movie ‘Quotation Gang’  (QG) directed by the talented innovative Vivek Kumar Kannan. The teaser of this macabre-looking yet enthralling movie ‘QG’ appears  tantalizing yet eerie,  ‘Quotation Gang’ also has the voluptuous Sunny Leone hold-your-breath in an “organically de-glam tanned look” and the acclaimed Southside actress Priyamani in an unconventional role.

Sharing his reaction with me regarding his intense, rugged ‘wow’ look being highly appreciated in ‘Quotation Gang’, the modest  Jackie-Dada said, “ Mere akele ka kuchh nahin. My amazing look and appearance is the result of combined entire technicians team-work including the make-up artiste, the hair-stylist-dresser, the stylist-costume designer, the cameraman  and of course brilliant director Vivek’s vision. Now I am eagerly waiting for the theatre audiences and also my fans to watch the movie when it releases,” shared the off-screen suave style-icon Jackie Shroff   It may be observed that, Jackie’s  look is meancingly grunge with salt and pepper hair, thick stubble and a bruised face with eyes giving out the deadly hypnotic look.

After giving hits in Tamil like 'Aaranya Kaandam', 'Kochadaiiyaan', Maayavan’  and 'Bigil', multi-lingual mega-star Jackie will be starring in this Tamil multi-lingual film ‘Quotation Gang’ directed by Vivek.K. Kannan. The film is supposedly based on a real gang that operates from Kerala.

When quizzed as to why he singled out Jackie Shroff to play deadly gangster ‘Mustafa’, the ‘Quotation Gang’ director Vivek Kannan justified, “ Jackie-Dada  with his bass macho voice behaves so authentic and looks imposingly credible as a rough-tough gangster Mustafa .  ‘Bossy’ Jackie  instantly connects with the masses, as compared to any other actors. Even when he is just sitting, he has that eloquent dominating aura-swag visual screen-presence.

I consider  myself blessed that Jackie-Dada believed in my madness-passion-vision and he agreed to act in my movie ‘Quotation Gang’. All thru, Jackie-Dada was very supportive and so flexible for all the multiple ‘look-tests’. There was so much I learnt from working with the ‘pure-legend’ Jackie Dada. It took us quite some time and multi-sessions for finalizing the particular impactful look . As far as the costumes I had the innovative dedicated efforts from talented costume designer & celebrity-stylist Pankhuri Chak who has exclusively designed the costumes-clothes for Jackie Shroff-sir with the right cloth-material. Must say that diligent Pankhuri was practically wise and gave me valuable creative suggestions-ideas-inputs and options for the cloth-material and colours and what we decided matched my vision. We had excellent support from the hugely talented make-up, hair-stylist technicians as well,” shares ‘QG’ director Vivek Kannan.

Costume designer & celebrity-stylist Pankhuri Chak  , “ When I first met films director Vivek-sir  he briefed me on the script-characters of ‘Quotation Gang’ The character Mustafa needed to be raw and rugged. Unlike real image of  style-icon Jackie-dada which is suave, debonair yet uber-cool Based on director’s brief I decided to step out and do my research , I covered places like Dharavi , Bhuleshwar in Mumbai for some real-life inspiration. “Triple-R” that is Raw-Real-Rugged is the mantra that I followed while ageing the costumes to remove the newness and add some earthy grime vibes ! . Costumes needed to blend with the deadly aura of the gangster and not deviate or distract too much. My first meeting with friendly, unassuming Jackie-sir was at the time of fittings for the ‘QG’ film   ‘ Jackie-Sir recalled about how he used to get outfits made out of curtain fabrics and shared some incredible anecdotes. One cannot compare his knowledge and experience in this industry. But his patience and humility is what I admire the most after his sense of fashion. Day One at the shoot when I entered his vanity van, he asked me about where I got the pants that I was wearing. The suede pants was my design and he asked me to get the same thing made for him. Which I did. The last day of shoot I handed him the pants and in return he got me his signature style Nehru cap in a very cool print. Jackie-Sir wore those same pants for the Pinkvilla style-icons awards. There’s no one who can beat his coolness quotient and his sense of quirky humour with his witty one-liners, That had all of us laughing quite often. I would love to work with him any day ! For me  awesome super-actor Jackie Sir deserves the G.O.A.T—title which means “Greatest Of All Time” when it comes to styling-fashion sense,” enthuses Pankhuri.
