If reports are to be believed, Babumoshai Bandookbaaz actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui will soon be seen as the lead in Vishal Bhardwaj's upcoming home production. The 52-year-old filmmaker, along with Prerna Arora and Arjun N Kapoor, is all set to produce Aditya Nimbalkar's directorial debut. Nimbalkar had earlier assisted Vishal on films like Kaminey, Haider and more recently Rangoon.
According to a leading entertainment portal, Nimbalkar has been working on the script for quite some time now and has even met Siddiqui to discuss his character. While the casting and other details, including the actress for the lead role haven't been confirmed yet, the film is expected to start production in December.
Vishal Bhardwaj had previously launched his former assistant director Abhishek Chaubey with the Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi-starrer black comedy Ishqiya in 2010.
As earlier reported, Vishal will also be launching Honey Trehan, with an as-yet-untitled film, featuring Deepika Padukone as mafia queen Rahima Khan (popularly known as Sapna Didi) and Irrfan Khan as a local gangster, who is in love with her and helps in her mission to eliminate Dawood Ibrahim. Trehan had assisted Vishal on Omkara and 7 Khoon Maaf.
