Neetu Kapoor and Varun dhawan tests positive, shooting cancelled

It seems a strange irony that while shooting for an upcoming comedy-drama-romantic  movie  titled ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ veteran star Neetu (Rishi) Kapoor and actor Varun Dhawan on Friday have tested positive for coronavirus on location in Chandigarh. by Chaitanya  Padukone

Ranbir made necessary arrangements for Mom Neetu 

Both Neetu and Varun along with Anil Kapoor and Kiara Advani, were shooting for their upcoming movie in that city. Consequently, the shooting has been stalled and halted until full normalcy is restored. According to a source close to the family, Neetu, 62, is now flying back to Mumbai after her actor-son Ranbir Kapoor made necessary arrangements."She tested positive for COVID-19 and a concerned Ranbir organised the air ambulance for her, to return to Mumbai. If she's here, she will get proper hospitalisation and isolation otherwise she was alone in Chandigarh," a source disclosed.

Varun is on quarantine break

However, Varun Dhawan and the film's director Raj Mehta, (of ‘Good Newwz ’ movie fame) who has also contracted the corona virus, have decided to take a quarantine-break  for around two weeks in Chandigarh itself.

Warning for all! Even wedding shot sequences are risky!

The actors had apparently shot a wedding sequence recently with crowds participation, which is believed to have been the possible cause of the corona-crisis.  Earlier in the day, Anil Kapoor took to Twitter and denied the speculative rumors that he has also tested positive "In the interest of putting any rumours to rest, I have tested negative for Covid-19.

Thank you all for your concern and good wishes," Anil Kapoor has tweeted Apparently, even the stunningly beautiful Kiara Advani also has tested negative. The cast and crew had apparently undergone a Covid-test just before starting the film last month.In November, Neetu Kapoor had posted on Instagram that the cast is "COVID tested and safe" ahead of the filming start.

 Shooting is on hold for at-least couple of weeks

The movie "Jug Jugg Jeeyo", is backed by by ‘showman’ filmmaker Karan Johar, marks the return of  Neetu Kapoor on the big screen after seven years. The veteran charming actress had last featured in "Besharam", (2013) which also starred Ranbir Kapoor and her late iconic actor-husband Rishi Kapoor..Incidentally this film ‘Ju Jugg jeeyo’  also features the YouTube quirky-yet-exuberant sensation-actor Prajakta Koli in a prominent role besides compere-anchor-actor Maniesh Paul in the cast.
