Amit Das on Relationships: Understanding Takes Time

Actor Amit Das, who is known for his stint in the Gujarati movie “Fuleku”, the short film “Main Tumhara”, and the TV show “Diya Aur Baati Hum”, has shared his opinion on how people are making big decisions about relationships or getting married so carelessly. He feels it’s more for social media than connecting with someone.

Building Relationships: Understanding Takes Time and Patience

“Nowadays, we think that with the advent of three or four apps, we can just hook up, spend some time together, and love happens. Then, within 15–20 days, we start thinking about getting married, and within two months, we think about divorce. So, it's not easy, and it's not a short process. It takes a lot of time to understand someone and to create a bond between two people. If you want to spend your life, you need to spend a lot of time and understand each other,” he said.

“A relationship is all about how you can support each other by overlooking each other's flaws, neither highlighting it repeatedly nor creating a situation where there might be a fight,” he added.

He also emphasized that people are just going about doing everything for social media, even their relationships. He asserted that though it looks all happy on the platform, the reality is something else.

He said, “Relationships are all about Instagram, reels, and photos. Physical connection is less, but social media connection has become very important.  I feel like that because of what I see outside on social media and how people live in real life,” he said.

“There is a big difference between them, and I think it's very stupid that you can be so fake. You cannot fake everywhere in reel life as well, because the camera always catches you, and you have to be genuine to your character. Even if you're acting and showing that you are in a relationship, you have to play a character,  but you can never be fake in life,” he added.

For Amit, a relationship is all about being genuine, real, and understanding. “Knowing each other's essence of love and how you can push the essence of flaws, to make it better, that's all about relationships. I think on occasions like Valentine's Day, it's better to do something good for your wife or girlfriend, something good in her life related to her, it's much better than giving fake proposals, roses, and whatnot,” he ended.
