Bollywood Booms: Over 12,000 Crore Turnover in 2023

There was a big commotion. The year 2023 was the year of Bollywood uproar. Every other film was beating its previously released film in business. In this competition, not only the two Bollywood superstars Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan were there, but Ranbir Kapoor and Prabhash were also there. Sunny Deol's film, which was considered to have missed stardom, created a ruckus. At the end of the year, Bobby Deol was also in the headlines. And, here sir, the year past report card is in front. The report of ormax media says that Bollywood has not only passed but has overcome the recession of many years and has brought distinction. Last year the cinema industry is estimated to have earned more than Rs 12 thousand crores. This earning is equal to or half of the annual budget of many small states of the country, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Nagaland.

 

Trade experts guessed the collection in the first quarter of last year

It should not be forgotten that the first quarter of the year 2023 was given a tremendous push by the two films of 2022, 'The Kashmir Files and 'Kerala Story', due to which Shahrukh Khan's controversial film 'Pathan' started creating a stir. This film alone had taken the collection figure to Rs 1000 crore. The first quarter of the year had given a tremendous start to theatres. Earnings of Rs 8,798 crore from January to September were reported to be 6% higher than the same period last year. The peak collection period was in July and August. At that very time, trade experts had started saying that the annual earnings of films would go above Rs 11,780 crore i.e. Rs 12 thousand crore.

The film did double and triple business than their budget

After 'Pathan' came 'Gadar 2', then 'Jawaan', and 'Jailor'. Then 'Tiger 3', 'Animal', 'Dinky' and 'Salaar' created a stir of success one after the other. The earning figures of these films have been touching Rs 1000 crore for each film. Along with these, other films which were of low budget also gave good business. Films like 'OMG2', 'Dream Girl 2', 'Fukrey 3', 'Leo', 'Sam Bahadur', 'Yodha' etc. did double, and triple business of their cost. The films of the last quarter of the year 2023 (between October to December) are still running. The pace of 'Animal' and 'Saalar' remains the same, which is enough to give a push to the future films by becoming the opening films of the year 2024.

Finally, the industry has come out of the recession

Many Bollywood filmmakers and trade experts believe that this boom in the business of the cinema industry is also because the industry has come out of the recession of the last several years due to Corona epidemic, demonetization, etc. Many people believe that the change in content is the main reason why audiences have turned back to theatres. Many believe that the inclination towards action films has increased. Whatever may be the reasons or all the reasons, indeed, the film industry has now completely recovered from the disappointment. The business of film trade in the year 2023 will be more than Rs 12 thousand crores. This amount is close to the annual budget of Mizoram, an Indian state (14,209 crores), and half of the budget of Meghalaya and Nagaland. Even now if someone says that Bollywood is poor...ugh!
