Chamkila Welcomes Child with First Wife Despite Marriage to Amarjot

Imtiaz Ali's Amar Singh Chamkila remains a topic of discussion on social media. The film has not only received a positive response from critics and audiences but has also received a lot of appreciation from Chamkila's family. Meanwhile, Imtiaz Ali revealed that after Amarjot, Chamkila and Gurmail Kaur had a child.

The director wanted to show more aspects of Chamkila-Gurmail's relationship.

In his latest interview, Imtiaz Ali revealed, "After having a child with Amarjot, he had another child with Gurmail Kaur. Chamkila's sister has told me about that situation. I have it on record and I even wrote a scene about it, but it had to be cut because it was somehow a little less relevant than the existing scenes.

Gurmel's character was not given importance in the film for this reason

Continuing his point, the film director further said, "I could not show much about her in the film because that part of Chamkila's life was hidden from Amarjot and the whole world. Only later in the film do we reveal that he has another wife? I edited the film a lot to bring it up to date. But I believe there is a lot more to explore in their relationship."

Chamkila was six years younger than Gurmail

Imtiaz Ali tells about an aspect of Chamkila and Gurmail's marriage that could not be included in the last part of the Diljit Dosanjh starter. Talking about this, the director said, "Many interesting things happened in his life. Chamkila was six years younger than Gurmail. When he got married, he got a bicycle. After marriage, they would return home on a bicycle and Chamkila would sit on the pillion for most of the journey. They would sit one by one, but he mostly sat in the back seat because he was under 16 years of age."
