“Next, we are hunting for good stories with strong emotional content,” says Utkarsh Sharma whose mega-blockbuster ‘Gadar-2’  opposite Simrat Kaur is speeding towards Rs 700 crores -- by Chaitanya  Padukone

Having crossed worldwide box-office Rs,500 crores in 11 days,  the mega-blockbuster Gadar2  directed by 'showman' Anil Sharma and backed by Zee Studios (Shariq Patel)  is speeding towards Rs 700 crores.  Both handsome Utkarsh (‘Jeete’) Sharma and beautiful Simrat (Muskaan) Kaur are practically grounded and modest and refuse to be intoxicated with the super-success. Reacted Utkarsh, “ Frankly, I am very grateful to the millions of Pan-India and NRI theatre audiences for their overwhelming love and response, to director Anil Sharma-jee who is my father and Godfather for his vision and the confidence he had in me. Am also grateful to writer Shaktimaan-jee and  Shariq-Sir Patel the CBO of ZEE Studios and to the entire cast and crew for making Gadar 2 such a mega super hit”,  says Utkarsh who has already worked under his director-father Anil Sharma as a child artiste (young Jeete) in ‘Gadar’  (2001) and in movie ‘Genius’ (2018) as the lead-hero.

After the super-success of ‘Gadar2, what are your next career plans of Utkarsh?  “Am looking mainly for good stories with emotional content. Of course, sentimental romance, family values, melodious songs, powerful clap-worthy dialogues and impressive action scenes also play significant roles in making a movie a huge hit For me, emotion is of prime importance because that is what connects with the Indian audiences. In both Gadar (2001)  and the latest Gadar 2,  patriotic sentiments ( “Hindustan Zindabad”) also connected hugely with the theatre audiences.   What I and my Dad (Anil Sharma) and have realized that money can buy almost everything, but not good stories. So  I am not in a hurry at all. Right now, there are three to four subjects,, which I and my Dad are considering  (one of which is likely to feature ‘narrator’-actor Nana Patekar in the cast ?)  As we have assured the audiences towards the end of the Gadar2 movie that the  Gadar brand-franchise will be continued. But since we have ourselves set a high level of expectations, we have to ensure that the story content of the proposed Gadar3 has to be superior enough. It was an honor plus a learning experience working with  awesome actor Sunny Deol-papaji. and a gem of a human being who played my screen father in both the Gadar movies."

Charming heroine Simrat Kaur ( she has also acted in hit Telugu movies including the bold yet aesthetic hit 2020 movie “Dirty Hari’ ) who plays Muskaan is thrilled with the flood of favorable feedback-compliments. “ The young audiences have fallen in love with my character Muskaan and they have loved the on-screen bonding chemistry between Jeete and Muskaan.  Since past so many years, my favorite song has always been Main Nikla Gaddi Leke. While signing Gadar2,  I even confirmed with director Anil Sharma that they would be including this song in the sequel Gadar 2, along with the new songs composed for Gadar 2.  My real-life father who never cries, had continuous tears in his eyes after he first watched and heard the lyrics and tune of the Ussey Khairiyat Sey Rakhna background soulful song, which has mother-son and father-son intense emotional sentiments,” shares Simran who coincidentally shares her birthday (July 16) with that of star-heroine Katrina Kaif,---which she feels is "so motivating".Showman Director Anil Sharma had the final word, “In ‘Gadar2’, besides the intense family emotions    ( Ameesha Patel as mother 'Sakeena') and inspiring sentiments, powerful dialogues, wonderful music  and authentic action scenes and fights there is one more important factor.  Sunny Deol-paaji as the ‘one-man-army’  formidable character Tara Singh,  backed by Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma) has both generated huge waves of heartfelt patriotism, a sense of national integration, unity and solidarity across entire India and amongst NRIs.
