Nikkhil Arya talks about his mother who dotes on him!

Actor Nikkhil Arya (Instagram) says that  the way his mother brought him up, means the world to him. The actor who is part of Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal adds that his upbringing was a healthy mix of his mom being strict as well as overly loving.

“How true this famous quote is- 'Life does not come with a manual, it comes with a Mother'

I'm sure all mothers are special but my head bows down in gratitude to God for giving me mine...it's like ‘duniya ki saari khushiyaan aur gham ek taraf aur Maa ke aanchal mein sarr rakhne ka sukoon ek taraf,” he says, adding, “I sometimes wonder how she could do something as difficult as bringing up a naughty kid like me. But she did it in a way that only she could, using a combination of softness and a hard iron hand. I remember a couple of anecdotes very vividly. Each time we kids fell sick, she always used to do just what's adequate to see us back on our feet again and never over sympathized. Her funda was that if she did give extra love and attention, the kid would fall sick more often for that love.

Nikkhil Arya's Mother,

A similar example is- since she is a great cook, she used to make these exotic cakes and sweets and me being me used to over eat and became fat.. she immediately stopped cooking the goodies and dragged me to the one and only gym that had opened in town; Talwalkar's. She personally instructed the management to be extremely strict with me and cut me to size. Her weird ways, of spoiling me badly with her love and then quietly talking to my dad if needed, who then used to whack me when I crossed the limits, were simply amazing. Also, I remember her allowing me to be  thrown into the swimming pool at age 4-5 to remove the fear of water, only to have me rescued later calculatively!”

Nikkhil Arya adds,

Nikkhil (Arya) adds, “Anything and everything in life that I have learnt about love is through my mom. Whatever good, if any, there is in me, comes from my mom. The rest is dust collected on the clean slate that she had created. Sometimes, I think it's so surreal. Every time I'm away from her, in deep thought and I am a little stressed; 9 out of 10 times, the phone will ring and it's her. What a bizarre umbilical connection. My mom is literally the pulse of the house...had it not been for her, me and my father would be like two dead men walking. Everybody says that I look like my mom but i always tell them you haven't seen her in her hey days...She was a stunner and I am not even a small patch of what she was-an epitome of grace and elegance." He signs of with another quote - 'Only Mothers can think of the future, because they give birth to it in their children'- Maxim Gorky.
