Nine-day “Mumbai Mahotsav 2024”

Maharashtra Tourism Minister Girish Mahajan and Mumbai Festival Advisory Committee Chairman Anand Mahindra unveiled the festival logo and song.

‘Mumbai Mahotsav 2024’ will be organized to cherish the spirit, inclusivity, and unity of Mumbai.

The Directorate of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, responsible for promoting tourism within the state of Maharashtra, announced the 'Mumbai Mahotsav 2024' at a function in Mumbai. This announcement was made by Maharashtra Government Tourism Minister Girish Mahajan and Mumbai Festival Advisory Committee Chairman Anand Mahindra along with Director of Tourism Directorate Dr. B.N. Done in the presence of Patil.

The announcement was highlighted with the unveiling of Mumbai Mahotsav's logo and theme 'Gateway of Dreams' and the Mumbai Mahotsav theme song composed by renowned composer Shamir Tandon, celebrating the fusion of cultures with the immense energy and resilience inherent in the soul of Mumbai. Echoes the kaleidoscope. The theme song presentation was further enhanced with superstar film director and dance choreographer Remo D'Souza introducing a set of hook steps that brought the Mumbai Mahotsav song to life. The dancers demonstrated the hook steps in front of the media and inspired everyone to create a new rhythm and pace.

The 9-day Mumbai Mahotsav, running from January 20, 2024, to January 28, 2024, will showcase the spirit of unity with the theme ‘All are invited’. The theme emphasizes the inclusivity of Mumbai, which welcomes and embraces everyone in the ‘Gateway of Dreams’, the city of dreams. The festival will include cultural programs, concerts, food festivals, and more.

Speaking at the launch and announcement ceremony of Mumbai Mahotsav 2024, Hon'ble Tourism Minister, Government of Maharashtra, Girish Mahajan said, “Mumbai Mahotsav 2024 is being organized by the Government of Maharashtra to celebrate the various aspects of Mumbai. The festival brings together a set of experiences and initiatives that highlight the spirit of Mumbaikars and the rich historical and cultural heritage of the city.”

Tourism Minister Giriya Mahajan further said, “The objective of the festival is to promote tourism, promote growth and inclusivity, and explore new opportunities and avenues in the industry. Mumbai Festival 2024 is not just an event, it is a transformative experience, set to become one of the biggest annual festivals India has ever seen. The Tourism Department has appointed Wizcraft Entertainment Agency Pvt. Ltd. has been selected to conceptualize and manage the Mumbai Mahotsav.

Festive events will be organized at various locations across Mumbai. The event line-up includes diverse, engaging activities including cultural programs, a vibrant music festival, the Maha Mumbai Expo, captivating cinema and beach festivals, a movie competition and an exciting cricket clinic, a start-up fest, and many more.

One of the unique attractions is the ''Mumbai Walk'' in which the esteemed people of the city will come together to honor and pay tribute to the heroes of Mumbai who provide maximum speed to the city, including the Dabbawala, the Police Havildar, the Best Bus. Drivers and conductors, sweepers, cleaning crew, etc. are included.

The highlight of the Mumbai Mahotsav is the Shop & Win Festival which will cover at least several retail and food outlets as well as entertainment opportunities. The mega prizes will include a set of satisfactions and experiences that will make dreams come true.

The Mumbai Marathon, Kala Ghoda Art Mahotsav, Khaghushal Roads, Yoga by the Bay, and Aarogyam Kidathon are going to be integral parts of the Mumbai Mahotsav as supporting events, further adding to the vibrant cultural celebration of the city. Additionally, one of our partners will be co-curating an exhibition on memories of Mumbai seen through the lenses of photographers over the years.

The proposed program for the Mumbai Festival was revealed, as well as the screening of a film dedicated to the festival.
