NITI Aayog and CMO Maharashtra called Shikha Malhotra's selfless service inspiring

 Actress Shikha Malhotra, who left acting for a while and became a volunteer nurse, is serving Corona patients free of charge in a hospital in Mumbai.
NITI Aayog shared a picture of Shikha Malhotra on their Twitter account and Instagram ID, writing that "The selfless service of volunteers like Shikha Malhotra is delivering the message of hope, strength & kindness during the #CoronaVirus pandemic"
This is the second appreciation message from a government institution, before this, on March 30, the CMO Maharashtra, with its tweeter handle encouraged Shikha Malhotra to praise this noble cause.

Shikha Malhotra has been working as a nursing officer in the Corona Isolation Ward of the Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care Hospital in Jogeshwari, Mumbai since last 27 March. Shikha said during the conversation that the messages from "NITI Aayog" and "CMO Maharashtra" will give me strength and I will continue to contribute in defeating Corona at the earliest! Explaining further, She said that "Thirty corona-affected patients have returned to their homes yesterday after recovering fully from our hospital"!
Shikha Malhotra is originally an actress and after studying B.Sc (Hons) Nursing from Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, she made Mumbai Glamour World her work place and as an actress done Shahrukh Khan's 'Fan' and Shoojit Sarkar's 'Running Shaadi' films. After playing these supporting roles she has done  film "Kaanchli" as female lead in 2019 there she was opposite Sanjay Mishra.
"Kaanchli" was successfully released this year on February 7th on Indian box office.
