Nitin Desai was also associated with the beautification of Kashi's Ganga Ghat and Lord Vishwanath Temple

The news of the suicide of the late Nitin Desai, the famous art director of Bollywood and owner of ND Studios, has shaken everyone. It is being said that he was troubled by a debt of Rs 252 crore. He was heavily indebted and the company was on notice for insolvency resolution. It is shocking to think that someone obsessed with the imagery of the sets of 'Lagaan' and 'Jodhaa Akbar' could contemplate suicide. He was also a believer in God and just four days before his death he went to Varanasi where he visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Had met the officials of the temple, Ganga Dwar, and Ganga Ghat and discussed with the temple's administrative officer and work management personnel about the renovation of the temple.

According to the Divisional Administrative Commissioner and Chairman of Kashi Vishwanath Special Area Development Board, Mr. Kaushal Raj Sharma, Mr. Nitin Chandrakant Desai was the mastermind behind the sound no-light operation of the temple complex. He also inspected the sound and light work on the walls of the temple gate, Ganga Dwar, Lalita and Jalsen Ghat. He was also working on a plan to introduce sound and light on the walls of the ghats where large space is available.

He visited the Kashi Vishwanath temple on Sunday and his body was found on Wednesday at his ND Studio in Karjat. Nitin Desai was also associated with the work of a digital show in the Varanasi Kashi Vishwanath Temple Gallery. He had also come talking about giving clarity to the sound quality at Ganga Dwar and Ganga Ghats which needed to be improved. Desai was also thinking of making some technical changes in the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Museum.

Nitin Desai, an art director in Bollywood and known for his studio, was a hard-headed and determined man who was a God-fearing devotee. The news of his death has shocked as well as saddened everyone. The cause of death is under investigation. May his soul rest in peace!
