According to Hanu Roj, Founder Director, Jaipur International Film Festival, due to COVID-19 spread, there would not be screening of films in the film festival this year. There has been an increase in film nominations to motivate filmmakers as film submissions have decreased. Due to COVID-19 there has been a change in the film festivals to be organized by Jaipur International Film Festival Trust. Sixteen International Film Festivals – 16IFF 2020 of Jaipur and Aryan International children's Film Festival of Jaipur – ICFF 2020 were supposed to be organized from 29th to 31st July in Jaipur but due to the pandemic Corona, both these festivals would not have film screenings now.The organizers have declared nominated and awarded films for both of the festivals on Friday.
SELECTED AND AWARDED FILMS IN 16IFF
JIFF Founder Hanu Roj asserted that films are selected in 9 categories for various competitions in 16IFF including Feature Fiction - 9, Documentary Feature - 13, Animation Feature – 1, Short Fiction - 23, Short Documentary - 9, Animation Short – 7, Mobile Film - 4, Web Series - 1 & Song - 4.25 films from India and 46 films from various countries

In I6IFF, Best Feature Film is Surdine from Portuguese | Best Documentary Feature Film is Okavango of South Africa | Best Animation Feature is The Last Page of Summer from America | Best Short Fiction is The Last Cross Road from Italy | Best Short Documentary to be Offside Girls from India | Best Short Animation is Ailin on the Moon from Argentina | Best Web Series is Certifiable Series from America and the Best Song Award was won by New Day New World from Canada, based on LockDown.

Hanu Roj informed that in a total of 67 films, 16 films from India and 51 films from other countries have been selected. It includes Feature Fiction - 5, Documentary Feature – 2, Short Fiction - 30, Short Documentary - 9, Short Animation – 15, Mobile Film - 4, and Web Series - 2.

In ICFF - Best Feature Film has been the End of the Heroes from France | Best Documentary Feature is Sockeye Salmon Red Fish from Russia | Best Short Fiction is the Best Orchestra in the World from Austria | Best Short Animation is GON, the Little Box from Japan | Best Short Documentary is Living Dream from India | Best Mobile Film is Smiley Check by India and Best Web Series award is won by Game of Souls of Germany.

In both, the film festivals approximately 500 film applications from 39 countries including Portugal, Malta, Israel, China, Switzerland, Romania, Singapore, USA, UK, Netherlands, Mexico, Austria, and Macedonia etc were received. Last year 900 films from 50 countries were received. Due to the COVID - 19 pandemic, there has been a decrease in film submissions this year but film selection has increased so that filmmakers are motivated in this difficult time of Corona.
