Multiple National Awards winning maverick filmmaker and star-maker Madhur Bhandarkar was recently honored with a prestigious Best Director (dual) international award at the Indian Bollywood Festival 2023 held in Oslo city in Norway. The award was presented to him by Ms. Lubna Jaffery, the Minister of Culture & Equality, for his socially-relevant, realistic yet massy-entertaining films "Babli Bouncer" and "India Lockdown." .
Interestingly, the beautiful exotic foreign country Norway ( located in Northern Europe) was very much in the headlines- news thanks to Rani Mukherjee’s YRF socially-realistic Hindi movie titled ‘ Mrs Chatterjee vs. Norway’ which released in March 2023.
Reacting to the foreign Award Madhur said “ Am very happy to receive the international Duo Award in Norway for my landmark maverick films Babli Bouncer and India Lockdown in from the Minister of Culture Lubna Jaffery. Such a proud moment for me and the entire cast and crew of both my movies,” shared Bhandarkar who is working on the scripts of his next upcoming movies

Madhur also disclosed that he also loved the popular song ‘ Do Ghoont Mujhe Bhi’ picturized on Mumtaz from the 1973 film Jheel Ke Us Paar starring Dharmendra and with hit music by RD Burman
