DESPITE CBFC'S CLEARANCE RAJASTHAN BANS 'PADMAVAT', CONFIRMS CM

The makers of Padmaavat are doing their utmost to ensure that their film will get a good start in spite of all the controversies happened related to the film. Now, Padmaavat makers have decided to release the film one day prior (24 January)  to the actual release (25 January) date. Yes, you read that right as according to a report in Mid-day, the makers have arranged the paid previews which will be held in the theatres across the country,  a night before (on 24 January)  the release, it is to generate a positive response for the controversial film.

This latest development about the release was confirmed by the owner of G-7 multiplex Manoj Desai who said in his statement given to Mid-day,  “While Padman releases on January 25, Padmaavat will release the night before. The distributors of Padmaavat are likely to reimburse the film that is scheduled for the 9.30 pm show that day and screen the magnum opus instead. There will be only one paid preview. This will happen not just in my theatres but across India.”

A trade analyst Atul Mohan also expressed his views on the same by saying,  “If the makers of Padmaavat are arranging paid previews, it means they are confident of their product and want to prove to those who have been protesting against the film that they are wrong. They want to show the audiences that the movie glorifies Rajput culture and traditions.”

He further added, “The paid preview can lead to discussions on social media and can change the general audience opinion. Having a paid preview is more of a psychological move.”

The reason behind the paid preview is the release of  Akshay Kumar's Pad Man on 25 January which definitely affects the business of film. After all the series of controversies, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starer magnum opus Padmaavat has been officially banned in four states that are Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
