By Team Bollyy 07 Nov 2020 | Updated On 07 Nov 2020 11:17 IST in News & Gossip New Update Follow Us Share Chaitanya Padukone What I had predicted in Sept. 2019, seems to be coming true. ! Charismatic yet dynamic Bollywood actress-danseuse Urmila Matondkar who had lost in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections had then formally resigned from the Congress party . Somehow I had strongly anticipated that she would definitely return to active politics, backed by ‘some other’ political party. Not surprisingly, Urmila Matondkar’s name is now among prominent names recommended as one of the select nominees for the Maharashtra State MLC ( Member of the Legislative Council) by the powerful political party Shiv Sena. The recommendation has already been made to the Maha-State Governor Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari . The feisty multi-linguist Urmila, known for her effective oratory skills, reportedly agreed to the Sena offer after Hon’ble CM Uddhav-saheb Thackeray called her up. Justifying the nomination, the Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut said,” “She is an actor and has a good social connect. She may have lost the Lok Sabha elections, but had won hearts of many through her political maturity, knowledge of the field and awareness about people’s problems. She has recently proved that again.” The ‘Chamma Chamma’ song glam-girl senior actress had justified her past resignation as a consequence of being highly disillusioned with the way murky developments and unethical conduct that reportedly took place and the alleged infighting within the Congress party . The senior outspoken Bollywood actress-danseuse Urmila Matondkar ( of ‘Masoom’ (as child-artiste), 'Rangeela' ( still remembered as the sensuous hot-babe) , 'Satya' and 'Bhoot' etc movies fame ) who had formally 'resigned' submitting a formal letter , had also expressed her thanks for the candidature opportunity. She also stated that she stood by all her thoughts and ideologies and 'would continue' to work for people to the best of her capacity with honesty and dignity'. An altruist by nature, ‘Aquarian’ lady Urmila has always discreetly resorted to social-work and welfare activities for both citizens-in-distress and pets-animals.. This senior film correspondent has personally witnessed the talented Matondkar regularly performing-on-stage since possibly over past 18 years, devoting time for the Mumbai police force at their annual Umang entertainment fund-raising live shows for police-welfare. #Sanjay Raut #Sena nominee Related Articles Advertisment Latest Stories Read the Next Article
