IT’S OFFICIAL: SONAKSHI SINHA JOINS DIANA PENTY IN HAPPY BHAG JAYEGI SEQUEL

Bollywood’s Dabangg girl Sonakshi Sinha has been roped in for the much-awaited sequel to last year’s surprise box-office hit Happy Bhag Jayegi and will play a major role in this sequel alongside Diana Penty. Titled Happy Bhag Jayegi Returns, the film will be helmed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions and Eros International.
Sharing the news with media Sonakshi said, “I’m thrilled to be on board of this really positive, vibrant and most importantly happy film unit. I loved the first part and I hope this one is bigger and better in every way. Can’t wait to start shooting!” The actress also took to social media to share the news.

Diana Penty also shared her excitement surrounding the sequel and Sona becoming a part of the venture and said in a statement, “HBJ was a special film for me, so being part of HBJ Returns is like going back to family! HBJ was a fun, roller- coaster of a ride and I’m sure this one is going to be as much of a riot! I’m looking forward to the shoot.”
Anand L Rai also spoke to the media and said, “Happy Bhag Jayegi was a cross-border comedy of errors featuring humorous characters and now we are happy to announce the sequel that has Diana passing on the happy-ness quotient to Sonakshi. Excited to have her on board.”
Happy Bhag Jayegi starred Diana Penty, Abhay Deol, Jimmy Shergill and Ali Fazal in lead roles. Interestingly, for the second film, Punjabi singer-actor Jassie Gill has also been roped in and the film will mark his Bollywood debut.
