Ram Navami is one of the most significant Hindu festivals as it marks the birth anniversary of Lord Ram. Lord Ram was born on Navami Tithi during Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. Before Ram Navami, these nine days are spent worshipping the nine different forms of Goddess Durga and on the 9th day of Chaitra Navratri, the devotees celebrate the birth of Lord Ram. Hence, the festival is called Ram Navami. On the occasion of Ram Navami, Zee TV actresses like Bhaweeka Chaudhary a.k.a Nandini from Maitree, Aishwarya Khare a.k.a Lakshmi from Bhagya Lakshmi, Ashi Singh a.k.a Meet from Meet and Shweta Gulati a.k.a Mohini from Main Hoon Aparajita opened up about their most cherished memories of the festival and how they plan on celebrating it this year. Here’s what they have to say about the festival.

Aishwarya Khare who essays the role of Lakshmi in Zee TV’s Bhagya Lakshmi mentioned, “Navratri is one of the most auspicious festivals of India, and we all celebrate it with a lot of belief and traditions. Every year we listen to the stories of all the goddesses and learn important life lessons from them. During these 9 days of Navratri, my mom fasts for all nine days and religiously goes to the temple, and makes the delicious food that we make during fast. I enjoy every bit of it, the delicacies, the morning aarti and the 9th day of Navratri when we celebrate Ram Navami.  I wish everyone a very happy and blessed Ram Navami.”

Ashi Singh, who essays the role of Meet Hooda in Zee TV’s Meet mentioned, “During my childhood, we used to be up all night as there was a temple nearby where celebrations would go on in full swing. These are the memories I cherish, and it will always remain special to me. I make sure to visit a temple during these nine days of Navratri and take Maa Durga's blessings. The ninth day of Chaitra Navratri is Ram Navami, which is celebrated as Lord Rama’s birthday. Every year, on this day, people fast and worship Lord Ram and Hanuman together. I wish all my fans a joyous celebration and urge them all to celebrate it with love and enthusiasm."

Shweta Gulati, who essays the role of Mohini in Zee TV’s Main Hoon Aparajita mentioned, “I am an ardent believer in Goddess Durga. Every day I fold my hands in front of her, thank her and pray for the well-being of my people. It is the ninth day of Chaitra Navratri that we celebrate Ram Navami, which is the birthday of Lord Ram. During Chaitra Navratri and Ram Navami, I fast and It is one of the most divine feelings. I learned about this festival from my mother, and since then, I have been following its rituals religiously. During the festival, everything I cook is Sattvic. Through these years, I have realized that fasting is an effective therapy for cleansing the body. My diet during these auspicious days consists of kuttu atta, singhara atta, fresh fruit, and dry fruits. However, Sabudana vada and Kheer are my all-time favourites. I would like to wish everyone a very happy Navratri and Ram Navami.”

Bhaweeka Chaudhary, who essays the role of Nandini in Zee TV’s Maitree mentioned, “I celebrate Navratri every year and it is one of my favourite festivals too. In fact, I look forward to Navratri so I can enjoy the delectable Sabudana Wada, khichdi, and aloo puri that is made at this time of the year. I love to keep the 9 days fast, but this year I will be keeping only the first and last day,  because of my hectic shoot schedule. We celebrate Lord Ram's birthday on the 9th day of Navratri and these 9 days bring in lots of happiness and positivity, which I just love. I wish everyone a very happy Ram Navami.”
