On the occasion of International Friendship Day, Zee TV actors open up about their fondest memories

Every year, people across the globe celebrate Friendship Day on the first Sunday of August with a lot of enthusiasm. In the run-up to this special day in 2022, Zee TV actors like Meet’s Ashi Singh, Mithai’s Ashish Bhardwaj, Kumkum Bhagya’s Aparna Mishra, and Kashibai Bajirao Ballal’s Riya Sharma opened up about their most cherished memory of the special day. Read on to know what they had to say…

Ashi Singh, who essays the role of Meet in Zee TV's Meet mentioned, "These days good friendship bonds need lots of nurturing and when your sibling is only your best friend, there is nothing like it because they know you in and out.

My sister Kashish is my best friend and even though she is younger than me, we share a bond like best friends. In fact, we always share everything with each other.

Whenever we go out, we enjoy ourselves a lot with all of my other friends together, there is no filter in our conversations. I am really lucky to have found a best friend in my little sister. I don't have any plan as such for friendships day, but if I do, it will be incomplete without Kashish.”

Aashish Bhardwaj who essays the role of Siddharth in Zee TV’s Mithai, also added, “Friendship Day always reminds me of those days when we would buy and exchange colorful friendship bands with our friends.

I still remember, when I was in school, I used to get very excited about Friendship Day and tying those vibrant bands. In fact, I often used to get the most friendship bands.

However, having grown up now, I have realized that there is no particular day to celebrate friendship. The bond in itself is a celebration and I must say that I am blessed to have the most amazing friends in my life, be it on my show Mithai or in the Entertainment industry. On this special occasion, I would like to wish each and every one of my buddies, a very Happy Friendship Day!”

Aparna Mishra, who essays the role of Shahana in Zee TV's Kumkum Bhagya, also said, “I call someone a friend when that person is true to you and stands up for you in every given scenario.

Friends are people who do everything they can to make sure you stay safe and I met my best friend, Krishna Kaul, on the sets of Kumkum Bhagya. We absolutely love each other’s company and spend a lot of quality time on the set.

In fact, post-shoot as well, we both keep going out for dinners and long drives. While we fight and play tricks on each other, I truly feel safe when Krishna is around me and the occasion genuinely makes me feel grateful that I have a friend like him in my life.

Over the years, we’ve always gone out for dinner on Friendship Day and this is what we plan to do in 2022 as well.”

Riya Sharma, who plays the role of Kashibai in Zee TV’s Kashibai Bajirao Ballal further revealed, “I feel friendship is one of the most important relationships that we humans share with each other. In fact, friends are the family that we choose.

Talking about my memories of Friendship Day, when I was a young kid, I remember I used to carry these vibrant friendship bands to school for all my friends. I also used to carry a special one for my best friend.

I continue that tradition even today, but having said that, I feel that friendship is not something you should celebrate just on a particular day. In fact, you should celebrate it every single day of your life.

I actually have been missing my friends, while I have been shooting for Kashibai Bajirao Ballal in Karjat. However, this Friendship Day, I am planning on meeting my special ones for a lunch date and celebrating it with good food and lots of pictures. Here’s wishing one and all a very Happy Friendship Day.”
