A simple, affordable, reliable, and environment friendly means of transport is Bicycle. Every year, World Bicycle Day is celebrated on 3rd June to promote fitness, sustain nature and build the environment. Additionally this day aims to develop a culture of cycling for commuting, and strengthening physical and mental health of the people. On this World Bicycle Day, Zee TV actors like Manav Gohil a.k.a Akshay from Main Hoon Aparajita, Samarth Jurel a.k.a Harsh from Maitree, Mohit Malhotra a.ka. Vikrant from Bhagya Lakshmi and Krishna Kaul a.k.a Ranbir from Kumkum Bhagya, shared their fondest memories of cycling, as well as the importance of the same for good health.
Manav Gohil who essays the role of Akshay in Zee TV’s Main Hoon Aparajita mentioned,
“Whenever I see anyone riding a bicycle, I get flashes of my childhood days. I still remember how my father bought me my first cycle when I was 5 years old. I used to cycle a lot when I was kid, and I can say ‘those were the best days of my life’. According to me, cycling is the most eco-friendly transportation, and more than that it is beneficial for our mental and physical health. And if we include cycling into our daily work out regime, or even make it a habit to just commute through it, it will improve our quality of life in countless ways.”

Samarth Jurel who essays the role of Harsh in Zee TV’s Maitree mentioned, “Bicycles are very close to my heart, as they are a reminder of the golden period of our life called childhood. There is nothing as exciting as a bicycle ride, just take out your cycle early in the morning and within a couple of minutes it will disconnect you with the daily hustle of life, and take you in tranquility. I remember I started learning how to ride a cycle when I was in the 4th grade. It always made me feel like I have wings and I am flying with the wind in my hair. Even today, whenever I am free or not working, I prefer to ride a cycle, be it for leisure or even as a form of exercise.”
Krishna Kaul, who essays the role of Ranbir in Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya mentioned,
“There's something truly magical about the simplicity and purity of riding a bicycle. It takes us back to our childhood days, the days when a bicycle was our gateway to exploring the world and feeling the wind in our hair. I personally believe bicycles not only promote a healthy lifestyle, but also contribute to reducing pollution and congestion in our cities. They offer a sustainable mode of transportation that is accessible to people of all age groups. One day, I myself decided to cycle from my house to the sets and come back and I believe it was the hardest thing I have done so far, but the feeling of accomplishment was so real. So, let's encourage more people to hop on to their bicycles and embrace the benefits it brings. I wish everyone a Happy World Bicycle Day! Let's pedal towards a healthier, greener, and eco-friendly future.”
Mohit Malhotra who essays the role of Vikrant in Zee TV’s Bhagya Lakshmi mentioned,
“Cycling has always been my go-to physical exercise. It helps my overall health as well as my well-being. I have always been mindful of staying in good shape and I believe It is the form of exercise that keeps your body relaxed, and calms your mind. Since childhood I have always been fond of it, even while going to school I used to cycle with my friends. I miss those days, good times with friends and the early morning peaceful breeze. In fact, there should be times when we should skip the long drives and go for a nice bicycle ride with friends and family.”
