What can be better than sinking into your sofa, watching your favourite movie and digging into some delectable food. And which better day to pay ode to both, food and movies – than today, being World Food Day. Let’s take a look at some movies that made food look most appetizing.
In pursuit of preparing a special North Eastern Dish – Axone Pork, for their best friend’s wedding, a gang of friends had everything in place except one. They did not keep in account the aroma that emanated from the spices and flavours added to the dish, not exactly the best scent for neighbours and their landlord. The movie, which is a funny take on food, love, and friendship is bound to take the food lover in search of his/her favourite food.
Literally translating to ’Feast of Love’, this film is truly a feast! Starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra, this Habib Faisal film is all things food, and has also been called a potent recipe. The story revolves around two talented actors, food and the price of love. Tackling the grave issue of dowry with some masala and tasty food, Dawat – e – Ishq is a delight to watch!
Put Irrfan Khan and Nimrat Kaur in one frame and you definitely have a story but add a large dollop of love and food and we promise you, it’s a blockbuster! An epistolary romantic which explores the dynamics of love through food, Lunch Box is proof that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. An epic mix up of dabbas is the reason behind a unique storyline driven by food.
An official remake of the American comedy-drama film with the same name, the Indian version stars Saif Ali Khan and Padmapriya Janakiraman in lead roles. The story explores the dynamics between a father and son as they learn life lessons through food. Saif plays a chef and does such a good job of it – post the movie, you are definitely going to head to the kitchen to make something yourself.
What do you expect when Butter Chicken and Kunal Kapoor play lead roles in a film? A tempting amalgamation of taste and beauty! A comedy film that circles the secret ingredient which makes Daarji’s Butter Chicken a delicious success and Kunal Kapoor’s pursuit a fully-flavoured one. Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurrana is a potent mix of comedy, flavour and love.
