Amazon miniTV, Amazon’s free video streaming service, recently released the bromance dramedy series Namacool, which follows the journey of two friends, Mayank and Piyush, as they navigate their second year of college with dreams of fame and popularity. Their lives take a surprising turn when they cross paths with Chakku Pandey, a well-known local gangster, thrusting them into a world of crime, betrayal, and deceit. The series promises viewers a laughter riot with some unexpected plot twists as the duo encounters new friends, enemies, and love interests along the journey. Produced by Reliance Studios - Namit Sharma and directed by Ritam Shrivastava, Namacool features a stellar ensemble cast, including Hina Khan, Abhinav Sharma, Aaron Koul, Abhishek Bajaj, Anushka Kaushik, Faisal Malik, and Aadil Khan in pivotal roles.
Abhinav Sharma on 'Mayank' Role: 'Let's Just Do It!
Actor Abhinav Sharma, who portrays the role of Mayank in the show, revealed his first reaction to the script, saying, “When I first read the script, I was totally invested in the world brilliantly crafted by our writer, Shantanu. In fact, I felt compelled to take on this role. I couldn’t wait to embrace the opportunity of embodying a character unlike any I have portrayed before. My initial reaction was simply, ‘Let's just do it!’”
Abhinav further added, “It was an enriching experience to portray a character from a completely different background. Playing Mayank enabled me to broaden my horizons as an artist. Additionally, going to set each day was incredibly exciting, as I got to connect with like-minded, talented individuals!”
