The Family Man season 3

From the very beginning of Season 3, it's clear that this time the story will delve deeper than Shrikant Tiwari's life, touching on something "personal." At one point, Shrikant says, "This time it's personal," and this sets the tone for the season. This time, the story's main canvas is Northeast India, whose political complexities, separatist conflicts, and the influence of foreign forces—all combine to make this season extremely interesting. The story constantly travels between Delhi, Mumbai, Nagaland, London, Islamabad, and Myanmar.

Where does the story begin? (The Family Man Season 3 story)

Manoj Bajpayee

The season begins with a massive explosion during a cultural event in Kohima. Subsequently, several cities in the Northeast are rocked by explosions. The central government is engaged in peace talks, while Prime Minister Basu (Seema Biswas) wants to launch a major project called Sahakar—designed to counter China's growing influence. Meanwhile, Shrikant Tiwari and JK are sent to the Northeast to meet local leader David Khujo. But the mission takes a sudden turn when local gangster Rukma (Jaideep Ahlawat) murders both Kulkarni and David. Shrikant survives, but the incident completely shakes his life.

The real player is sitting in London – Meera

The Family Man

Nimrat Kaur's character, Meera, is the most powerful element of this season. Operating from London, this fixer instigates violence in the Northeast to secure an international arms deal. At her behest, Rukma orchestrates this bloody conspiracy. Returning to Mumbai, Shrikant finds himself embroiled in a new predicament—he is suspected of Kulkarni's death. Now, he's a fugitive, hiding with his family. A new task force, Yatish (Harman Singha), arrives to search for him, further heightening the tension in the story. The season's big question: will Shrikant be able to prove his innocence? And will he be able to reach Rukma?

Raj and DK's strength—a perfect balance of humour, politics and emotions

Raj & DK

This season too, Raj-DK are sticking to their favourite style –

  • The complexities of the political environment

  • light but effective humor

  • and the warmth of human relationships

The depth with which the Northeast locations, actors, and music have been portrayed on screen is commendable. However, the 55-minute episodes feel long.
The season starts off strong, but the middle episodes falter a bit. The final episode feels rushed, and the climax leaves an incomplete impact.

Performance: Manoj Bajpayee once again proves that he is the backbone of the show ( Family Man Season 3 Review  )

The Family Man 3

Manoj Bajpayee once again delivers a very realistic, sensitive, and fun portrayal of Srikant Tiwari. JK and Srikant's friendship is one of the most endearing aspects of this season—especially the train scene. Priyamani makes an impact even with limited screen time. Nimrat Kaur's character, Meera, gives the season a strong edge.  Jaideep Ahalawat creates a unique villain with his silence, poise, and mysterious aura. The local cast has contributed significantly to making the series feel alive and authentic. And most importantly—Vijay Sethupati's (Vijay Sethupati in The Family Man Season 3) small role is beautifully incorporated.
