The makers of the hugely popular crime-drama web-series Raktanchal have begun work on its much-anticipated third season, with shooting currently underway in and around Lucknow and Varanasi. Known for its gritty portrayal of the power struggles and crime-politics nexus of Purvanchal in the 1980s, the series is once again returning to Uttar Pradesh to maintain its rooted and authentic setting.

Raktanchal first premiered in 2020 and quickly found an audience for its raw storytelling, intense rivalries, and strong performances. Set against the backdrop of the tender mafia, the hugely popular series chronicles the rise of gang wars and political ambition in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Its second season further expanded the conflict, leaving viewers eager for the next chapter.
