PAD MAN PROMOTIONS: SONAM KAPOOR DISTRIBUTES FREE SNITARY PADS TO SCHOOL GIRLS AND AKSHAY VISITS DELHI UNIVERSITY

Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar and Fashionista Sonam Kapoor are leaving no stone unturned to promote their upcoming socially relevant film, Pad Man.

On January 22, actor Sonam Kapoor and director R Balki visited a school to interact with the children.  While promoting her film Sonam also talked about the menstrual hygiene also distributed sanitary pads to the school girls to spread awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene.

During a media interaction, Sonam was asked about the time when she got periods for the first time. In response, She said,  "I was 15 when I got my periods and all my friends had got that way before me. I was very upset that I had not got it. So when I actually got it I was very relieved because I kept telling my parents there is something wrong with me as I did not get my periods. So, I was very very happy."

Talking about her small role in the film,  Sonam said, "It is the combination of the story and my character; screen timing does not matter to me, honestly. One does not have to be in every single frame of the film to create an impact of the character. If my part is well-crafted, even with three scenes, my character can make a major impact on the story. And that's what matters."
