'PADMAAVAT' REVIEW
New Update

The most controversial film is finally released after all the allegations made by Shri Rajput karni Sena, a Rajput caste organisation who is claiming that the film makers have demean the status of Queen Padmavati. After facing a lot of dispute, trouble and threat and with 5 modifications by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) the film is now now on theatres and getting a good response from the viewers in just 1 day..

CAST AND CHARACTER

If you are among all those people who do not know much about the movie, we will make it simple for you. 'Padmaavat' is an Indian epic period drama which was earlier known as Padmavati. It is based on an epic poem 'Padmavat' by Malik Muhammad Jayasi and is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie starring Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati opposite to Shahid Kapoor who plays the role of Maharaja Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji. Aditi Rao Hydari and Anupriya Goenka, who was recently seen in the movie Tiger Zinda Hai was also there in supporting roles. The film story is about how a true Rajputi women (Rani Padmavati) saves her pride from an evil Sultan (Alauddin Khilji) by committing 'jauhar'

STORY

The story is all about  Rani Padmavati and Maharaja Rawal Ratan Singh who fell in love with chance. There is a vicious Sultan Alauddin Khilji who came to know about the beauty of Raani Padmaavati. The story revolves around all the battles and fights between Khilji and Ratan singh. Khilji wants to have a look at Rani Padmavati  but failed to do so. In order to protect the pride and glory of Rajputi women  padmaavati takes a decision of jauhar which is still remembered for her bravery and love for her husband.

PERFORMANCE

The film starts with a clear notice that everything is fictional and does not promote Jauhar and is based on the poem Padmavat by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. The mess which is created by Rajput organisation saying that the movie degrades their dignity, but there is no such scene where there is any dispraising on the pride or glory of Rajput. we can see Rani Padmavati as wise and clever woman. Despite of being sharp, she also has hunting experience. We can see this when she was asked some questions by Raghav and she brilliantly replies to all of it. There was a time when Maharaja Rawal Ratan Singh was captured by Alauddin Khilji and Chittor was in problem, when  padmaavati took some wise decisions to bring back his husband from danger. She was the only one to take the decision of Jauhar to protect the rajput woman from the hands of evil Khilji and their soldiers. Her dialogue "Rajputi kangan me bhi utni hi taakat hoti hai jitni Rajputi talwaar me" and "Padmaavati ne dar naam ka gehna kabhi pehna hi nahi' builds her strong character.

Maharaja Ratan Singh Rawat is a true Rajput and a brave King who follows all the rules. He is about keeping his words. He is a caring Maharaja who thinks about his Praja. We can see this when Khilji is in the process of attacking Chittor and the first thing which upsets him is the protection and security of the women and kids and the food supply out there.  This was also seen when there is an option for Ratan Singh to show his back and run away from the clutch of Khilji but instead, he confronts him and invite him for battle when Khilji gets physically fit.

On the other hand, Alauddin Khilji is a mean sultan who only thinks about himself. He was seen killing people in the greed of throne. He was so evil that he plan things in a very mingy way. His self praising nature makes him look very wicked. He is all about cruelty and obsession.

All the three actors have played the role very well but our eyes stop at Ranveer Singh for  his brilliant performance as Alauddin Khilji

DIRECTION AND EDITING

Sanjay Leela Bhansali always amaze us with his piece of work. The set and background is all up to the mark. We can feel the significant Historical view. The camera angle or the cinematic view gives the viewer Gossebumps. The use of high angle view is brilliant. There is a fantastic view when Khilji is defeating Mongol in a wide angle long shot view and he gets inside the sand-dust to defeat the king of Mongol. The costume is also used very perfectly. The view of Ghoomar song gives us the feel of pure Rajputi culture and the direction done for this song is really great.

SONGS

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is very well known for his music style. The use of background score is so powerful which simply compliments the genre of film. There is a soulful song ek dil ek jaan makes you go in love with it. The song ghoomar sung by Shreya Ghoshal is also very beautiful . Also, there is a song called khali bali which gives you a similar touch of Malhaari from Bajirao Mastani.

In a nutshell, it is just another great piece by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Just keep Karni Sena out of your mind and go watch the movie with your friends and family because it is really a must watch movie. And a shout out for the Rajputs , you will love it!! For me its a 4/5 for the movie.
