PAKISTANI SINGER RAHAT FATEH ALI KHAN'S SONG FROM WELCOME TO NEW YORK DROPPED?

Welcome to New York movie recently released its new song Ishtehar, featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Diljit Dosanjh. Whereas the movie also released a song with a special apperance of Salman Khan in Nain Phisal Gaye. Ishtehar song is beautifully sung by Pakistani Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Dhvani Bhanushali and Shamir Tandon.

Over the weekend, Singer-turned-union minister Babul Supriyo kicked off the storm when he demanded the makers to remove the vocals of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan from the song. As India-Pakistan relations are strained, he questioned the Filmmakers need to rope in a Pakistani artiste when things are not good between them. After this controversy, director Chakri Toleti and producers Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani are planning to dub the song all over again with an Indian Artiste.

According to a source "The makers are worried that a controversy so close to the film's release, would jeopardise its chance at the box office. Though Chakri is against the idea, the producers are planning to record the song again." It will be a race against time for the team as the film hits theatres on February 23. "The team will record the new version over the next two days," added the source.

The director spoke about the same and said "We are yet to decide on what to do. There have been films , which have managed to go by without any hassle. There needs to be a balance between social responsibility and creative freedom. But people shouldn't have to compromise on artistic liberties."
