The Tale of Pokhran, casting John Abraham, Diana Penty and Boman Irani. The film is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran in Rajasthan in 1998. Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film has recieved reviews both sweet and sour.
It was released on May 25 and two weeks later, the film continues to maintain a steady momentum at the box-office. Its Buisness was impacted stiffly by semi-final and final matches of the Indian Premier League and also by Veere Di Wedding taking off on a solid start.
John Abraham, the lead actor added Rs 11.93 crore to its collection in its second weekend making its net total to Rs 47.34 crore at the domestic box-office. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his official Twitter account to share the film's earnings. He wrote, “#Parmanu is recovering lost ground <#IPL semi-finals and finals affected its biz in its opening weekend>... Maintains ROCK-STEADY figures...”
The film managed to forge and earning of Rs 35.41 crore in its first week and entered a comfortable spot. Currently in its second week, the film is now inching closer towards the Rs 50 crore-mark. Bhavesh Joshi Superhero continues to grapple at the box-office with its earning froze at a little over Rs 1 crore after a five-day run.
