Mohd Danish, Nihal Tauro, and Shanmukhapriya were also part of the finale episode. Indian Idol 12 was the longest-running season of the show and also had the longest finale episode.

The singing reality show aired for eight months and it's finale episode ran for a whopping 12 hours.

Pawandeep, who hails from Uttarakhand, won many hearts with his soulful performances throughout the season

Speaking about his experience on the show, Pawandeep had earlier told bollyy.com, “Indian Idol is a platform that gives a lot of respect to artists, and the kind of exposure it gets you is unmatched.

Through the course of the show, we got to sing so many songs, and had the best judges and guests to guide us.

The reason I got back in the arena was not my will to win but my quest to learn. I am thankful that after spending so many months on this show, we are now ready to playback.”

Exults Pawan Deep Rajan, in chaste Hindi on the phone, “Indian Idol is a huge platform and anyone who is lucky enough to get an entry in the show to display his latent prowess, can easily get a passport to the word of singing in films, whether one is rich or poor, provided he or she has his other own abundant ‘hunar’ in singing.

Pawan continues. “Indian Idol is a humongous platform of music which enables you to meet your favorite legends in Cinema.

I never could even dream that day would come when I will be able to meet legends like Dharamji, Asha Parekhji, Udit Narayanji, Sukhwindwer Singh ji, Kumar Sanuji, Alka Yagnikji etc and what’s more, also sing in front of them.

What I liked about them when I met them was that though they are so famous, all of them are extremely down to earth and a meeting with them makes you learn a lot from them.”

Pawan Deep Rajan says that he was the first winner in the music reality show The Voice of India, eight years ago.

Humbly Pawan adds that any day Indian Idol is a bigger platform than all the other platforms which set out to project raw and new singers and give them a big break.

“I could not bag any opportunity to sing in films when I came first in The Voice of India because I was very raw and young at that time and needed polishing as a playback singer.”

Pawan is comfortable in languages like Hindi, English and Punjabi says that he has sung songs in Assamese, Bengali and also Pahadi, though his mother tongue is Hindi and would love to sing in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi , besides Konkani.

Pawan adds that he groomed himself after that thoroughly and today he is confident that he will be able to pass off with flying colors in the Grand Live 12 hours Finale of Indian Idol tomorrow but is pragmatic enough to also confess that nothing is easy in the word since there is many a slip between the cup and the lip.

Pawan Deep Rajan asserts that the reason that he did not take up a job though he is 25 is that he does not want his passion for singing to be diluted by any other constraint.

“If you do exemplary work as a singer, you can easily support yourself as well as your family easily.

I have had shows abroad in Dubai, South Africa, Thailand and Chennai, Mumbai etc in India.

If you take up a job, music may end up as your secondary choice and I did not want to be in a situation like that at any stage in my life.”

Pawan Deep Rajan, who had started learning tabla and dholak right from the age of two and a half, says that he would love to do playback singing for his favorite actor Salman Khan Sir.

The reason that today there is very less scope for new singers according to him is the fact there are far too many singers and very few opportunities to sing.

“Today it is the ‘daur’ of singles. I too have come up with singles like Tere Bagair and Teri Ummeed.”

Pawan states that among the music directors his favorites are A.R. Rahman and Preetamda and signs off by stating that he is also adept in penning down lyrics as well as composing his own songs in collaboration with his dear friend Ashish .
