Jhanvi Sethi and her NGO MyZindagi Foundation have started a new endeavour under which they will be providing medical assistance to those in need. She says a recent incident where her brother-in-law Vishal's friend was in need of finance to get his treatment done made her start this much-needed initiative.Vishal's friend Sunny Kapoor, who was suffering from brain haemorrhage, had used up all his savings because of the lockdown. And was in need of urgent financial assistance for his treatment. Vishal had created a WhatsApp group and was able to raise money for him, even Jhanvi along with her actor husband Vikas Sethi tried to reach out to as many as they can.
Sharing more details, she said, "My brother-in-law's close friend called Sunny Kapoor recently passed away due to a brain haemorrhage. Vishal started with a whatsapp group to raise funds for him. He accumulated Rs.3,75,000 for him in just five days through his network of family and friends. This act of kindness helped Sunny's family tremendously whose mother is also on dialysis. This was the inspiration for MyZindagi Foundation to pick this up as a cause to raise funds for those in need."
Asked how is she going to raise funds, she said, "As an NGO we have an established network who is willing to help those in need. We are just starting out so currently we do not have a benchmark in mind."She also mentioned that they have got a few doctors on-board this initiative, and added, "We are currently in the process of further strengthening this network with specialists."If someone needs urgent financial help for a treatment they can simply visit myzindagifoundation.com
