Madhushree's voice is no alien to Indian households. Composer AR Rahman's favourite singer who touched millions of hearts with Kabhi Neem Neem, Tu Bin Bataye, Nahi Ve, Tu So Ja Zara, Kannan Varun Velai, Banvane, Desh Mera, Siragugal, Vaji Vaji, Ka hetu Kacheri, Kangna Re and Vaigasi Nilave among others, is now coming with her tribute to the nation, Vande Mataram, this August 15.
Says Madhushree, "I love India and Vande Mataram used to play in my mind long after I heard it since my childhood. Everytime I hear the song, I get goosebumps.
This year, I decided that while in my heart I will always hear Lataji's voice, I wanted to pay a tribute to the nation and The Nightingale of India.
I requested Robby Badal to think of a different composition and he came up with a beautiful melody. I have rendered my voice to the song with reverence and gratitude. Our Mother India has given us so much.
I would like this song to be a tribute to our nation and our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of our 75th Year of Independence, Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
This is my way of sending the strength of our Tirangaa to every household musically. Music has no borders and through my tribute to Vande Mataram, I would like our National Flag to fly high in every Indian's home and heart, the world over.``
Madhushree and Robby Badal along with Sudip Ghose, have decided to give the song and video to any platform to freeplay copyright free.
"It is not our song. Vande Mataram is the anthem of the nation and we offer our humble tribute at the feet of our Mother India through this composition."
