At the trailer-launch of his mega-movie ‘Darbar’ co-stars macho Suniel Shetty ( main antagonist)  suave Prateik Babbar ( Shetty’s screen-son) and brilliant director A R Murugadoss (of ‘Ghajini’ fame),  seemed to be in awe of the outspoken Southside and national superstar Rajinikanth . Who later made a jolting revelation on stage. In the trending trailer, which has the backdrop of ‘Mumbai’  with his stylish swag Rajini-sir  says ‘I am a ba-a-a-d cop’—he plays the city police chief . The revered yet modest celebrated senior actor, who was in the city to launch the trailer of his next film "Darbar", was asked a movie genre, which  he would still like to explore. "Actually I've explored it all ! It has been 45 years with over 160 films... So everything has been covered," the bearded actor smiled. As an after-thought the veteran said, "A transgender on screen." It may be recalled that acclaimed Southside actor Vijay Sethupathi featured as a transgender in the widely acclaimed hit Tamil thriller, "Super Deluxe" earlier this year. Bollywood superstar  Akshay Kumar will also be seen as a transgender in the upcoming "Laxmmi Bomb". Asked if he has been offered the role of a transgender, the 69-year-old ‘2.0’ sci-fi movie actor said nothing like that had come his way”.. Directed by AR Murugadoss, "Darbar" releasing in mid-January during the Makar Sankranti festivities features Rajinikanth as a cop after 25 years.! “ Incidentally, Rajini-Sir has also played the (extended cameo) role of a cop in Bollywood movies like ‘Giraftaar’ (1985).  When asked what took him s-o-o long to play a cop again on screen, Rajinikanth said, "I like to do easy-going, happy-go-lucky character. A cop is a serious character, chasing criminals. So I used to avoid. But director Murugadoss came with a fantastic subject... This is not an ordinary routine cop character,”  disclosed  Shivaji Rao Gaekwad ( that’s his real name) while also making it known, that he was game to act in a Marathi movie as well. The film ‘Darbar’ is backed by Lyca Productions, the same banner which was also behind Rajinikanth's science-fiction and action flick "2.0".
