Pooja Madan, who has been seen in shows such as Amanat, Pratigya and Swarg, will soon be back on stage once again. The actor, who is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer, will be performing on stage in Mumbai, after 10 years."My mother initiated me to Bharat Natyam at the age of 4 and I have always loved it. I did my arengetram, graduated in Bharat Natyam at 13 and always kept going back to it even after long sabbaticals. My first teacher in dance was a Parsi lady called Rati Madon. She may be the first Parsi lady who used to teach Bharat Natyam. I want to dedicate this performance to all my dancing gurus, right from the first one to Chaya Khanvate to my current teachers Mubina and Nilesh of Shivoham institute, my parents and my husband and two daughters. Their encouragement means a lot to me." Her dance means a lot to Pooja. "It taught me everything. It taught me to be patient and disciplined in life. It also teaches you that winning and losing is not everything. Appreciation also matters. For an actress, knowing dance is an extra tool which enhances your expressions and emotions. I did get to perform too Amanaat. I am looking forward to a show where I can showcase my dancing skills," she says.
