Popular TV actress Charul Malik regrets split between film and TV stars

TV actress Charul Malik, who was part of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain and Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, says the divide between TV and film actors still exists. He says that only film actors are considered superstars - Jyothi Venkatesh

It is true that actors are tagged that TV actors get more footage. This is because they come on TV every day. It has its pros and cons. On TV, it is believed that an actor is overexposed.

Whereas Bollywood actors are seen in a movie once or twice a year. Only movie actors are considered big stars, which is really sad. As you can also see that TV actors are also doing well.

Be it Maniesh Paul and Sunil Grover who started with TV and now they are seen in films as well. Pankaj Tripathi and Mrunal Thakur also appear in films now.

OTT has given a platform where actors can showcase their talent. Lots of stories that deals with rural and urban stories, hot topics, sensational and controversial.

He said, OTT has opened a new door for those who have not got a chance to work in films. Even though they are getting it, they want to do web series.

You can get lead role or parallel lead in web series but it is not easy to get it in Bollywood. On OTT, there are also Bollywood actors, TV actors and up-and-coming actors. It is like a buffet where you can get all kinds of dishes.
