A day after the dastardly attack against CRPF jawans in the Kashmir valley, Yoodlee Films has decided to delay the release of its upcoming film ‘Hamid’. Yoodlee Films was planning a special screening for CRPF Jawans in Srinagar on Monday ahead of the release of the film on March 1st but given the tragic incident in Kashmir the producers strongly felt that the film should not be released at this point.

Siddharth Anand Kumar, VP Films and Television Saregama India and Producer at Yoodlee Film says, "The attack to the CRPF jawans in the Pulwama district can only be termed as heinous and dastardly act by those who have negated all sense of humanity within them. We at Yoodlee Films stand in solidarity with the families of the Soldiers whose lives have been so cruelly erased. Hamid is Cinema that unites - it carries a message of peace and hope in the most unlikely circumstances. We are under attack now and This is neither the time nor the right atmosphere for us to release our film or for poeple to absorb the narrative of the film - hence we have decided to shift the date of release. We will take a call on the subsequent release date shortly.”

The Director Aijaz Khan says” The story of Hamid is of a relationship between a CRPF jawan and an 8-year-old Kashmiri boy by the name of ‘Hamid’. The film was made with the attempt to bridge the gap of alienation because that is the very root cause of what is happening in the valley. At this time, we feel that the very attempt of peace and the work that our Jawans are doing is being undermined.”

‘Hamid’ bridges the gap between two individuals on either side of the battle lines. It explores the relationship between an eight-year-old boy and a CRPF Jawan - both of whom have been scarred by the conflict and a relationship that helps them find closure in strife-torn Kashmir. The film has been shot entirely in Kashmir and the eight-year-old is a local Kashmiri boy.”

The film stars a young Kashmiri boy Talha Arshad Reshi who plays 'Hamid' along with other talented actors like Rasika Dugal, Vikas Kumar and Sumit Kaul.
