New Update

Mohabbatein actress is on cloud nine, she is all set to ablaze the silver screen with her film, "Lucknow" which is to release soon. Another feather to Preeti’s OTT debut in "Kafas' sets the ball rolling for her on OTT.

Excerpts-

You have a film for theatrical release titled Lucknow elaborate? And also debut with Kafas on OTT elaborate?

I play the lead in my soon-to-release film,” Lucknow”. I am playing the character of a Mahapaur. The film is directed by Avinash Gupta. There has been a lot of controversy as people felt it is based on some individual. But it isn’t based on any individual. This character is ambitious so on the reel she turns insane, especially to gain that power. It is not inspired by any politician. The backdrop is Lucknow. The film is a theatrical release. The film is complete with its post-production work shot and is ready for release in theatres.publive-imageAnd about your character in “Kafas” being your debut, why did you choose it?

It had 6 episodes and probably they didn't explore the character which indeed has layers. She doesn't come out in Public. Maybe because of the length of the role it was written that way. But I remove all my frustration at home. I did get innumerable OTT offers but chose this role in Kafas as my debut it’s an impactful character.

Reminiscing your past in the Bollywood industry would you like to share if seen or experienced sexual abuse as shown in Kafas?

There is nothing that I have seen in Bollywood but yes have heard about it. Maybe because I was brought up with my parents around me. I never felt I was alone. I always had my family's support. For those who come from other smaller towns without any support. They have to meet their ends so at times they slip into all of this because of the economic pressures. Or they slip into it because of some kind of depression. It’s a lot about education and understanding people and being mentally strong.Preeti JhangianiDo you agree Bollywood is tagged as being ugly and mean?

It can be there in any other corporate world as well. Is it not true that this is also seen in other professions? It’s a doggy world.  I was not aggressive enough to get work in films, even if I was dropped from a film. Yes, this has happened to me but if I was a producer and would get a bigger name I would opt for that casting.

What kept her away from working ahead in films regularly?

I was not as ambitious as other people who came from outside Mumbai. I didn't push myself in terms of getting work. Yes we need to publicize ourselves through pro, which never did. I would never keep calling filmmakers to get work. Neither did I attend any parties to strengthen my work mode through going to parties which is definitely a practice here.Everybody knew my work. I was born and brought up in Mumbai but now I realise it doesn't work like that you have to be a little more aggressive.publive-imageHow satisfied are you with your journey in the glitzy world and now handling sport MMA?

It’s been a very fulfilling journey. It was never my dream to just do films. It’s not just been here I'm doing so much with my film production, I’m heading as the president of the sports federation. The pro Panja team happened because of my hubby. He started with the MMA India show and he has been very much into sports.

How difficult is it to promote this Sport and create awareness?

MMA India became one of the most premier website in India .But even, when we wanted to promote MMA we noticed the Indian audiences don't watch MMA.so when we wanted to get onto sport we decide to start with Panja we realized this sport had a lot of potential it’s not only familiar in the North but most players hail from Kerala surprisingly. This sport is played in -North East, Gwalior, Haryana Punjab .We had our National Championship in Mathura. We had 25000 players.Preeti JhangianiPro Panja League is founded by Parvin and you also have a film Production house. How do you guys share in business and work mode?

..We are 50 % partners. Handling business and sport is not simple.Pravin he is very sensitive and creative and soft where need be. That is missing in me.However, being a Sindhi the financial part is handled by me well.On Sport front from 28 July to 30 August live there are 6 teams participating .The matches will be held in Delhi. We are most excited.

There has been a huge hue and cry staged recently by the wrestling team. What would you like to say?

...I don't know the entire subject matter but I'm always on the side of the athletes. Athletes work hard and bring recognition to India bringing medals which comes with pains taking efforts. We should hear their grievances fairly enough. I also feel athletes are not given enough support to enhance their talent. Yes they are deprived of Athletes are not looked after the way they need to be looked after-Physically and financially in every way. They need to be nurtured and then they will bring many more medals.
