Public Relations And Fake News

Inspired by a real life incident, Bombairiya spins the tale of film publicist Meghna, who gets her phone stolen in an unavoidable circumstance. Being the media representative of a public figure, her desperate attempt to get it back leads to several crazy and one very dangerous situations. However, one of the key qualities a publicist must have is the ability to bend the truth.

In fact, the media have been accused of carrying fake news and we all know that this is a part of the public relations and communications game. People are hired to keep news out of the media almost as often as they are hired to publicize something or someone. Bombairiya shows Meghna using her skills to create diversions from what she is personally trying to hide, skills that come naturally to her in her job. She is manipulative and cunning. When we first meet her she also does not care much about the consequences to other people of her getting what she wants done. Gradually though we see her transform and use those skills for another reason. Sometimes the truth can hurt more than a lie. Sometimes it can kill you, so a cover up in those circumstances, might be permissible. It is a question of how desperate the circumstances may turn out to be!

Bombairiya stars Radhika Apte in the lead alongside Siddhanth Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi, Adil Hussain, Shilpa Shukla, Ravi Kishan and Ajinkya Deo. The movie is presented by Kreo Films FZ and Beautiful Bay Entertainment and is slated to release on 11th January
