Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala shot dead 

Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village of Mansa district on Sunday, 29 May. However, the incident happened a day after the Punjab Police withdrew the security of 424 people, including Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

Sidhu Moose Wala had contested this year's Punjab Assembly elections from Mansa on a Congress ticket and was defeated by AAP candidate Vijay Singla by a huge margin of 63,000 votes. Vijay Singla was recently sacked by Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann on corruption charges.

Last month , Sidhu Moose Wala courted controversy after targeting the Aam Aadmi Party and its supporters in his song ' Bali ka bakra ', the singer had called AAP supporters 'gaddar' (traitors) in his song .

The Congress party itself gave information about Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's death through a tweet, condoling the death of Punjabi singer, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted , “ Deeply shocked by the broad daylight murder of Sidhu Moose Wala. Punjab and Punjabis across the world have lost a talented artist with a collective connection who could feel the pulse of the people. My heartfelt condolences to his fans and fans across the world.

BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa demanded registration of FIR against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and said "negligence in Chief Minister's actions". Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “We have been warning the Punjab government to pay attention to the situation in Punjab. I demand an FIR against Bhagwant Mann for the negligence of his duties as Chief Minister , which resulted in the loss of life of Sidhu Musewala. A case should be registered against Bhagwant Mann along with Arvind Kejriwal."
