Puranchand Wadali Didnt Recognize Govinda In The Kapil Sharma Show

Making it a magical evening The Kapil Sharma Show will be welcoming eminent Sufi singers from the Wadali family this weekend. Gracing the sets will be eldest of the Wadali brothers Puranchand Wadal and his son Lakhwinder Wadali. Born into the fifth generation of musicians given to singing the messages of Sufi saints, the Wadali brothers dabbled in the most unexpected of professions before they became Sufi singers. Puranchand Wadali, was a regular at an akhara (wrestling ring) for 25 years. Padmashree Puranchand Wadali Sahab will make the evening entertaining with his captivating life stories.

In a candid conversation Kapil tried to enquire about the fact that initially Puranchand saheb refused to accept the award of Padmashree. Narrating the incidence, he shares, “When the letter of felicitation with Padmashree award came at my house I had no clue what is Padmashree. The letter was in dump for a year. The very next year I received the same letter again when people insisted me to go for the award. But I had always told them Dena hai toh dono bhaiyo ko do, mai akele nahi lunga (if you want to felicitate us, felicitate both Wadali brothers and not just me).”

Conversations continued when he went on revealing some more amusing stories. He shared the incidence when he went at Govinda’s place for dinner and didn’t recognize him. Son Lakhwinder narrates, “Once when we were called at Govindaji’s place papaji had endless conversation with him. After spending 30 minutes with him he asked me Govinda ji kaha hain, jinhone hume bulaya?” sharing the incidence Puranchand ji revealed , “Lakhwinder told me that actor Govinda wants to meet me and hence he has organized a dinner at his place. We went to his place and he welcomed us by touching my feet and doing all the rituals. I didn’t recognize him initially as I was meeting him for the first time. I opened up and confessed that I very well know your mother Nirmala Devi but because I don’t see cinema, I didn’t recognize you.”

Further in the show, Puranchand ji will be seen narrating how people were scared of his terrifying huge mustaches and pranks that he did during his entire life.
