But believe me, she manages to impress the audience with her refreshingly sweet love story. Qarib Qarib Singlle is a tale of two poles apart, middle-aged strangers falling in love on an unusual trip. The Dating App ! The story revolves around a funny, outspoken, talkative 40-year-old poet Yogi (Irrfan Khan) and workaholic, shy, reserved 35-year-old widow Jaya (Parvathy Thiruvothu). Jaya needs to move on with her life after her husband's death. In her situation as per the modern technology, a Dating App is the only solution. Finally, the dating app found Jaya's match; Yogi who is single and very ready to mingle. For their first meeting at a coffee shop, Jaya dressed up in beautiful pastel kurta and Yogi reached the cafe in a bright red jacket and jogging shoes. Just imagine the deadly combination. Their first meeting is hilarious, all thanks to Gazal Dhaliwal’s dialogues. After some coffee dates, Yogi plans a trip with Jaya to visit his three ex-girlfriends and proved Jaya that how all three of them still missed him. And with the trip, the real fun begins! The Rishikesh visit is full of fun. Actually, director Tanuja Chandra takes us on a trip to different and beautiful places like Rishikesh, Jaipur and Gangtok with Eeshit Narain’s lenses. The cinematographer has captured the locales of Rishikesh, Jaipur, Alwar and Gangtok beautifully. Also, the two main characters are well written which helps the film stand out. The fresh and simple screenplay by Tanuja Chandra and Gazal Dhaliwal is good. Could have been shorter ! The makers of the film used many means of transportation from luxury train to a helicopter but the only motive for the makers to show the journey and brewing love between two extremely different personalities. The pace of the film is just perfect but at some points, the story seems to be dragged unnecessarily and the interest level drops. But the funny twists and superb acting manages to grab our attention. Irrfan Khan's acting would leave you spellbound, but Malayalam actress Parvathy Thiruvothu steals the show. In her debut in Bollywood, she proves it all. Brijendra Kala, Neha Dhupia, Pushtiie Shakti and Isha Sharvani do their cameo part very well. The background score is subtle and effective. There’s a lot going on between Yogi and Jaya on this trip but in a very interesting way. Generally, in our films, two people travel together and fall in love but for this film, many times both the characters are not travelling with each other but eventually, distance also can't stop them to fall in love with each other. Qarib Qarib Singlle is a feel-good romantic comedy where the protagonists fall in love on a trip like usual Bollywood films, but in a very refreshing way. #Neha Dhupia #Irrfan Khan #Brijendra Kala #Pushtiie Shakti #Tanuja Chandra #Parvathy Thiruvothu #QARIB QARIB SINGLLE Related Articles Advertisment Latest Stories Read the Next Article
