Raaj Singh Arora has a name twin

Mumbai: Names are a funny thing. While some are unique on every level, others are beautifully common, leading to a lot of run-ins with people who have the same name. Actor Raaj Singh Arora who is essaying the character of a cricket coach in the upcoming Sanjay Dutt starrer Torbaaz has the same name as of Raaj Singh Arora who is famous for his portrayal of the character named Mihir Arora in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein.

 Commenting on the same Raaj says "Imagine starting a new job and finding out your co-worker has the exact same name as you. Yep, both first and last name — how confusing. Now, think about trying to break into the entertainment industry and being confused with an already-super-famous actor or musician who just so happens to share your first and last name.

Many Hollywood celebrities have famous name twins like Mark Wahlberg, Michelle Williams, Chris Evans, and Randy Jackson. Closer home we have actor Siddharth Malhotra and director Siddharth Malhotra The situation becomes humorous many times, but now I am used to it."

Raaj has been a part of movies like ‘SAHASAM’ in Telugu; ‘W’ & 'The Great Indian Escape' in Hindi and is known for his portrayal of Sakshi Tanwar's love interest in  'Karle Tu Bhi Mohabbat’. Things get more complicated as both the actors even share the same date of birth i.e. 26th September.  "Whenever I get audition calls, I clarify the caller and tell them that I may be different from who they think they are calling. Same happened at the time of 'Karle Tu Bhi Mohabbat' when I received a call from casting director Mukesh Chhabra's office. I confirmed with the casting person on the line whether they knew which ‘RAAJ’ they were talking to.

At times I get tagged wrongly on the social media handles and people also like and comment. I am sure that Raj might also be getting these misplaced calls. I love my name and cannot even think of changing it. I hope people in the industry get to see us together sometime so that they make out the difference between us" said Raaj as he signed off for the moment.
