Rajeev Jhandelwal will be seen in Australia's first Hindi film Salt Bridge produced and directed by Abhijit Deonath , who has also written the script and composed songs for the film. He has engaged people from Australia, India, New Zealand, and the USA during the making of Salt Bridge. The film revolves areound the sacred institution of marriage in India which is considered eternal and sets out to drive home the message that when a simple, loving relationship between a man and a woman gets the societal tag of marriage, things begin to change. For many, the certificate of marriage looks like a one-way ticket to hell. Restrictions, conditions, and bondage are some words that commonly pop up in people’s minds when they think of getting hitched. As if the day of marriage marks a deadline before which you check off everything on your bucket list.  Amidst these chaotic opinions and complex facets of a marital relation, the debutante director brings forth a beautiful, thought-provoking film about a couple and their struggle evaluating the righteousness of friendly relations outside their marriage.

Salt Bridge shot in Australia stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Chelsie Preston Crayford, Usha Jadhav and Kaushik Das. Basant (Rajeev Khandelwal) arrives with his young family in Australia to pursue his research career and in search of a peaceful life. His new home is a small town where every Indian knows every other Indian. When Basant’s path crosses that of Madhu, (Chelsie Crayford) a married woman, a beautiful friendship begins to blossom. Or is that all it is? When Madhu suspects Basant of being interested in her romantically, things begin to unravel. Ripples are felt far and wide in the close-knit community. Basant and his family soon find themselves isolated as the community boycotts them. Questions of intention, trust, innocence, guilt, and proof raise the stakes as emotions run high in Salt Bridge.

Chelsie Preston Crayford's claim to fame is mainly for her award-winning performances on Australian TV – for instance for Underbelly: Razor she won the prestigious Logie Award and The Code, for which she won the AACTA award – the highest award for Australian cinema. Born in New Zealand, Chelsie’s outstanding performance in Salt Bridge and her stunning looks in Indian attire make her an X-factor. Indian audiences are always curious about foreign actors in Indian films.  Usha Jadhav was adjudged Best Actress at India's most prestigious National Awards in 2012. She has worked in a number of Hindi and Marathi films such as Bhoothnath Returns, where she acted alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Veerappan.

The film Salt Bridge is set to go on the floors on the 4th of January.
