For Rajkumar Rao, his 32nd birthday has turned out to be his most special birthday ever! After garnering praises for his performance in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Bareilly Ki Barfi, from including the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, it has now been confirmed that the actor will star opposite former beauty queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the forthcoming film Fanney Khan. Yes, the makers have finally chosen Rajkumar as the third lead actor in the film!

Rajkumar seems super excited for the film and in an interview given to Mumbai Mirror from Poland where he is currently filming Hansal Mehta’s biographical series Bose, the actor admitted that he’d been informed that he has landed the role late on Tuesday by producer Prerna Arora of KriArj Entertainment. The actor is all praise for Aishwarya and is excited to work with her in the film. “She’s the most beautiful woman in the world. It’s a great story, there’s a lot of love, and the content is not just entertaining but is detailed and different. There will be lots of workshops and readings,” added Rao.

Earlier, there were reports about Madhavan being a part of the film. Reportedly, there was a fight that brewed between the makers while casting the actor who will romance Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the film.

The film is being produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, KriArj Entertainment, and T-Series and marks the comeback of the popular on-screen couple Aishwarya and Anil Kapoor after 17 years. Fanney Khan is slated to release in April 2018. Fanney Khan is an adaptation of the 2000 Dutch film Everybody’s Famous! and will mark the directorial debut of Atul Manjrekar.

Audiences loved the chemistry between Aishwarya and Ranbir in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. It will be interesting to see whether this unusual pairing of Aishwarya with a younger actor will be able to recreate the magic or not?
