The selection committee of FFI headed by Telugu producer, CV Reddy has chosen the film. According to him, Newton was a unanimous choice. The film has won the International Federation of Art Cinemas (CICAE) award in its Forum segment at 67th Berlin Film Festival earlier this year which also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Anjali Patil, and Raghubir Yadav along with Rajkummar Rao in lead roles. Newton revolves around an officer who is on a mission to hold free and fair elections in a village in Chhattisgarh. Rajkummar took to Twitter to share the news.
