He kept trying to find ways of making Ravi a hero in films and it was his customer,V Shantaram who saw a bright future for Ravi and gave him his first break as an extra in his film Sehra, and then launched him as a hero in Geet Gaya Patharone with the new name Jeetendra and the rest is history. Jeetendra was one of the biggest stars in Hindi films even though he was not a very good actor which he himself accepted, but nothing could stop him from growing into the most popular and successful star of India. From Ramchandra Chawl, he shifted to Usha Nivas in Colaba and from Colaba he jumped to Pali Hill in Bandra and from the Hill he shifted to the peace of Juhu where he had his own Buckingham Palace designed by his wife Shobha, but he never forgot the tradition of observing the Ganesh Pooja at Ramchandra Chawl where he went to pray atleast for an hour every year and walked in the immersion procession. He has now passed on the tradition. to his son Tusshar Kapoor and i am sure that the tradition started by Amarnath Kapoor will continue for many many years to come .
